Color Inspiration: Periwinkle

Lately I've been inspired by shades of blue, especially this periwinkle color. I've been seeing it everywhere and it feels so fresh for summer. Plus, how lovely is that dress from H&M? Perfect for summer barbecues and picnics.
   

Color Inspiration: indigo

When I'm designing or styling, color plays such a huge part in the process. Lately I've been into the color indigo. It feels so fresh and natural especially when paired with a simple white. I also like the idea of pairing it with a peachy orange color. It's such a versatile color that I'm starting to see a lot in fashion and in the home.

Mint green is a color everyone is obsessing over, including myself, so I've been trying to come up with new ways to wear it. When I saw these blankets, I was inspired. (plus, it never hurts to add just a touch of coral to your nails or lips).

I seriously cannot tire of these colors. They always remind me of a beach somewhere; somewhere I should be right now. Plus, how crazy cool is the digital print on this dress? I've been noticing a lot more digital designs on fabric lately.

p.s. I've been playing around on Spoonflower after taking a pattern design class from Nicole's classes and am having way too much fun. Have any of you ever used Spoonflower?  I created a bunch of designs, but haven't ordered any fabric yet.

Kid's room are such a fun place to play with color. I love the unexpectedness in this color combination; the neutrals with the bright pops are the perfect mix. Plus, don't you think these colors would be great to wear together, especially since we've been seeing a lot of these colors in fashion right now?

Color combinations can be found in the most random of places, (hello boots, bag, wall, and ampersand). As I have been taking some design classes over the past few months, I am constantly on the search for unique color combinations. I have always been drawn to color (just take a peek in my closet) and love to mix different colors in designing and what I wear.
