Styling Project

I told you last week I had a project I was going to share with you and I am finally getting around to posting it.

My friend Julie, asked me to help her come up with a look for her family photos in a couple of weeks. She is a friend of mine, blogger and owner of the etsy shop Mason Jar Holdings. She sent me a mood board giving me ideas of color scheme, style, and location for the photoshoot.

I then created 6 looks for her. Because she was on a budget, most of the items shown are less than $30. Many of the options are similar, but I tried to select pieces she could mix and match.

Beignets

Hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was pretty low key. Our plans to go to the zoo came to a halt when it started pouring rain. My husband was actually in New Orleans (for March Madness) and brought me back what he claimed to be the best of New Orleans: the beignets from Cafe Du Monde

Looking good

Someone got a haircut.

To Make: A Bow Pillow

Bows always seem to make things prettier.

1. Big Bow Pillow
2. Fierce Bow Flats
3. Bowtiful Clutch
4. Bow Skinny Belt
5. Girlie Satin Bow Headband

This week I am going to try making the big bow pillow seen on Say Yes to Hoboken, and hopefully work my way up to making this skirt. I think it would be perfect to have for summer, especially because the summers here are hot and humid.

P.S. Have you seen the newest issue of the online mag Rue? If not you should check it out; great inspiration and ideas. In fact, I think I will be adding the DIY sunburst mirror to my list of projects.

Black and White Everything

This picture describes it all: my serious obsession with Black and White right now.

Recently, everything I have been drawn to is black and white. Don't get me wrong, I love black and white, but am looking forward to brighter colors for spring/summer.

Check back next week for my new color combination series.

Work Bag

The perfect work bag.
That is, if I went to an office to work.
