Lauren Moffatt Spring Collection

This is not the first time I've posted about Lauren Moffatt. She is one of my favorite fashion designers and her clothes are too pretty not to share. The patterns and silhouettes are always spot-on and she knows how to mix and match. I love the way she styled this collection. Color Inspiration: indigo

top / middle / bottom

When I'm designing or styling, color plays such a huge part in the process. Lately I've been into the color indigo. It feels so fresh and natural especially when paired with a simple white. I also like the idea of pairing it with a peachy orange color. It's such a versatile color that I'm starting to see a lot in fashion and in the home. 

        

Weekend

Happy to be heading into the weekend. We are finally out of the single digit temps here. I think yesterday we hit 30! (kind of a big deal here). What are your plans this weekend? We are keeping it pretty low key and trying to recover from sickness we've all had this past week. I know things have been quite slow here the past few weeks. I've been busy working on new products for my shop and designing new patterns for my textiles. If only I could have a few more hours in the day:) Have a good weekend.

Spring Combos: drapey pants and flat sandals

What are you planning to wear this spring and summer? Last week I shared some of my Spring Essentials. We still have lots of snow here and it's been terribly cold, but I've got my eye on flat sandals for spring. There are many good choices this year, so many that it was hard to pick just a few different pairs. I love the idea of mixing them with some drapey pants for something that's comfortable but still pulled together.
   

Style do or don't: slip-on sneakers

I recently spotted one of my friends with a pair of leopard slip-on sneakers. Slip-on sneakers seem to be having a big moment for spring. At first I wasn't sure I liked them (I do, however, love them for my boys!). Although, after seeing them styled with jeans, a loose fit tee and a leather jacket, they are starting to grow on me. And I like that they look comfy and are easy to throw on. I'm curious to know what you think. Any thoughts? Would you wear them?

Spring Essentials

We are basically snowed in today due to a huge blizzard that hit last night so I thought it would be appropriate to share some of the things I've got my eye on for spring, that is if the snow ever melts and spring decides to show up here. I fear it might be a while.

Lately, I'm into simple and easy things to throw on and pieces that go with everything. I also started a Spring/Summer 2014 Pinterest board here if you'd like to see that I'll be adding to over the next few months.

Weekend

How often do you take pictures of your kids?

Having a phone with a camera is especially handy once you have kids because you can capture moments daily. A couple of weeks ago I went out to SLC for the Alt Summit Design Conference. While we were there, my sister, who is also a photographer, snapped some 6 month photos of Lucas. He won't quite sit up yet which proved to be somewhat of a challenge.

During the first year I like to take pictures at 6 months because they have changed so much since birth and you can start seeing their personality. 6 months is by far my favorite age and what I like to call the golden age for babies. They are happy, smiley, on a routine and still can't crawl anywhere yet. It's the best!!

How often do you take pictures of your kids?
