Weekend Look

Who knew house hunting with a one year old could be so exhausting?

One pattern I am always attracted to is a tribal pattern. Love this top especially when paired with these burgundy pants and a pair of brown riding boots.

Have a good weekend.

Styling Project Revealed

Remember that styling project I worked on a couple months back, well here are the final family pictures. I love the location they chose and Julie's family is adorable and so photogenic.

I gave her 6 different looks using a purple, darker yellow, and gray color scheme. I love how she used the looks as inspiration to come up with her own look. And the best part about it: she didn't even have to buy a thing, everything she already had in her closet. Remember, sometimes it's just about re-mixing your wardrobe to come up with new options.

Room to Outfit

room
I haven't put together a room to outfit combo for awhile, but this room caught my attention and I thought it would be great inspiration for a dressy work outfit. What is it about green, black, and gold together that reads luxury?

p.s. that blouse is only $15 right now at Old Navy and it is fabulous, plus it comes in lots of other jewel tone colors.

Style Feature: Annemarie

Happy Monday! I am so happy that it is starting to feel like fall, it is definitely my favorite time of year.

Today's style feature is Annemarie of the fabulous blog: Brunch at Saks. When I first started reading blogs, Annemarie's was one of the first. I was immediately drawn in and continue to enjoy her lovely finds and tips. She is super stylish and has a great eye for finding beautiful things, as evidenced here...
1. marc jacobs polka dot scarf net-a-porter - I'd love to wear this Marc Jacobs scarf in the winter months ahead.
2. flash flats Kate Spade - These Kate Spade gold flash flats are my all-time favorite. I bought a pair last year and have worn them out, so back on my wish list they go.
3. the original flea: saddle bag Fleabags - I really love the Original Flea: Saddle bag. It's gorgeously designed and would be a great everyday bag.
4. large rectangle hanging capiz pendant West Elm - I've been coveting this capiz pendant from West Elm for a while. It compliments any decor theme beautifully.
5. hang in there mini glasses pendant Kate Spade - I can't get over how cute this mini glasses pendant is by Kate Spade.
6. turned-leg dhurrie ottoman West Elm - This dhurrie ottoman by West Elm is so much fun. I think it would be perfect in lieu of a coffee table.
7. 21st century girl business cards minted - Even though everything is on the internet these days, I'm still old fashioned about things like business cards.  These are simple and fun - perfect for handing out at conferences or meetings.

Thanks Annemarie for sharing your finds with us, and those kate spade flats are making their way to my wish list as well.

Even though it isn't quite cold enough for coats yet, the stores are stocked with them and the first official day of fall is tomorrow. I've rounded up what I would consider some of the best coats I've seen.

To try: wrap your belt

I've been seeing wrapped belts all over the place, in fact they have been something I have been wearing quite regularly myself. I like how they make an outfit seem more casual and not-so-perfect.

Also, wrapping the belt is a great way to wear those belts that may be on the big side.

images via pinterest, clockwise from top left: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Although there are many different ways to wrap it (as seen above), this is one of the ways I like to do it, plus it works well for long and short belts.

p.s. I'm sharing some of my favorite beauty items over on Gaby's blog The Vault Files today. You can check it out here. Plus, Gaby's got great style and her blog is worth taking a peek.

Fashion Week: 3.1 Phillip Lim S/S 2012

images from style.com, to see more go here
I have been pouring over the runway photos this week on style.com, but I will wrap it up with this one.
(although they all deserve a post).

Can't go wrong with minimal and just the right amount of color mixed with neutrals. This collection was definitely one of my favorites.

Moving

I have some big news to share...we are moving to Minneapolis (of course right in time for winter, funny because we moved to Phoenix in the summer). If you don't already know, we move quite a bit (for my husband's job) and this will be our 6th state in 6 years. Moves are always bittersweet for me. I'm always sad to leave wonderful friends, but at the same time excited for a new adventure.
Lucky for me we get help with the move but there is still a lot of work to be done, so next month might be a bit crazy.

Also, if any of you have great tips on places I must see and do while in Minneapolis, do share.

Have a great weekend.

Places and Spaces: Chalkboards

Don't love to write on chalkboards, but do love the idea of chalkboards for decorating. I find it a casual and fun way to personalize your space, and how about those placemats, wouldn't those be great for a party?

Fashion Week: Milly S/S 2012

Bright colors, a mix of geometric patterns and a touch of nautical make for one amazing show.

DIY: Gold Glitter Earrings

Found these lovely earrings via pinterest and decided to create my own version of them. I love how they add just a touch of sparkle and go with practically everything.

p.s. this is probably the easiest diy project ever, the longest part is waiting for the glue to dry.

Decisions

Making some big decisions around here, and trust me they're more important than what shoes to wear.
(although that's pretty important as well)

*on another note: Fashion Week kicks off today, crazy we are already talking spring fashion, although I'm looking forward to seeing all the new designs.

DIY: Polka Dot T-shirt

Remember this shirt by Marc Jacobs I blogged about a couple of weeks ago, well after seeing a tutorial on P.S. I Made This I decided to make my own.
A couple of things I did differently from the tutorial
*Instead of using fusible fabric I actually used black knit fabric and attached it with heat n bond.
*I also left the back of the t-shirt plain white and did not turn the t-shirt around backwards
